Anna Norrby
In the autumn of 2024, Anna Norrby will take part in the Royal Swedish Opera's production of Jenůfa (the role of An Aunt).
Anna Norrby studied at the Academy of Music and the University College of Opera in Stockholm (1986-93). Debuted as a concert singer with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Raphael Frübeck de Burgos in 1993 with Ravel's song cycle Sheherazade. Anna Norrby has also studied at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA (1994) and as a fellow participated as a soloist at the Aspen Opera and Music Festival (1995).
Anna has been employed at the Royal Swedish Opera since 2000 and has appeared in roles such as Dritter Magd (Elektra), The Armchair/Cat/The Squirrel (L’Enfant et les Sortilèges), as Butterfly's mother (Madama Butterfly), soloist in Zucco (Short Stories I) by Johan Ullén and La maestra delle Novizie in Suor Angelica 2022.
Other engagements include: Montezuma by J. Graun (Rheinsberg Schlosstheater), Norrlandsoperan, Oscarsteatern (Cyrano de Bergerac), Stockholm's Mälardrottning (Capital of Culture year '98) and Den sovande staden (musical by Georg Riedel).
