John Kim
Korean tenor John Kim studied under Dennis O'Neill in Cardiff, Wales (WIAV). He also trained at the Opera Studio in Marseille, France (CNIPAL) and the Jette Parker Artists Program (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden).
His career at the Royal Opera House includes Gastone in La traviata, Ruodi in Guillaume Tell, Roderigo in Otello and Helenus in Les Troyens, and his cover roles at the ROH include Il conte Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Tonio in La fille du régiment, and Nadir in Les Pêcheurs de perles. He has also covered the role of Duca di Matova in Rigoletto at the Scottish Opera. He has performed as soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Mozart's Requiem and Handel's The Messiah.
His singing competition experience includes second place at the Giuliatta Simionato International Vocal Competition, a special prize at the Toulouse International Vocal Competition and a special prize at the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Vocal Competition.
