Maria Matyazova
Maria Matyazova soprano, was born and raised in Saint Petersburg and educated at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the University College of Opera in Stockholm and the University of Humanities in Saint Petersburg. She was employed at the Royal Swedish Opera in 2016 and has since sung roles such as the soprano in Les noces, Barena in Jenůfa, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin (vocally, not on stage) Brigitta in Iolanta, the Trainbearer in Elektra, Saturday in Tristessa, Ester in The Promise and First Alms Sister in Suor Angelica.
She has also sung roles such as Micaëla (Carmen) at Skånska Opera and Waldemarsvik Opera, Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) and Gilda (Rigoletto) at Saint Petersburg Chamber Opera, Desdemona (Otello) at Opera con Grazia, First Flower Maiden (Parsifal) with the London Wagner Society, and a page (Lohengrin) and Trishka (War and Peace) at the Mariinsky Theatre.
In a concerts, Maria Matyazova has performed at Stockholm Concert Hall, Berwald Hall, Wigmore Hall, Saint Petersburg's State Chapel, Ekaterinburg Philharmonic, The Globe (Avicii Arena) in Stockholm and on other stages in Sweden, Russia, England, Spain, Austria and Denmark. She has been a soloist in, among others, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Mozart's Mass in C Minor, Handel's Samson, Haydn's Nelson Mass and Brahms' Requiem.
