Daniel Ohlmann
Daniel Ohlmann was born in Germany and grew up in Canada.
Education: B.Mus. (Voice Perf.) University of Toronto, Masters from The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and Opera Studio: Jeunes Voix du Rhin.
Started at Royal Swedish Opera in 2016.
Daniel began his solo career at Staatsoper Stuttgart in 2002, singing roles including Narraboth (Salome), Pong (Turandot), Arbace (Idomeneo), and Alfred (Die Fledermaus). 2006 he moved to Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, to sing leading roles such as Don José (Carmen), Faust, Werther, Rodolfo (La bohème), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Alfredo (La traviata), Lensky (Eugene Onegin) and Tamino (Die Zauberflöte).
Guest appearances took him to theatres such as Badisches Staatstheater, Theater Bonn, Münster, Ulm, Kaiserslautern, Meiningen, and Rostock, in roles such as Hans (Verkaufte Braut) and Jim Mahoney (Mahagonny).
Concert highlights include Flavio (Norma) at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Beethoven 9th in Salzburg and at Festival Música Mallorca, The Proms at Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Gurrelieder (Klaus Narr) at Konzerthaus Berlin and Liederhalle Stuttgart, and Narraboth (Salome) at Festival Música Canarias. Daniel has also appeared in a vast repertoire of oratorio from Handel's Messiah to the Verdi Requiem.
At the Royal Swedish Opera, Daniel has been featured as soloist in Aida, Der ferne Klang, Der Rosenkavalier, Eugene Onegin, Short Stories IV, and title role in Candide and Jonathan in Dracula.
