Twenty-five bathtubs are placed on stage. Seven dancers move around, inside and with the bathtubs. The air becomes foggy and the floor is covered in foam. These are the ingredients the young choreographer Emma Portner uses when she and the dancers playfully perform the enigmatic, evocative Bathtub Ballet. Totality in Parts, with choreography by Lukaš Timulak, was created specifically for the Royal Swedish Ballet. It opens with one dancer. The number of dancers is doubled until 16 dancers have appeared on stage to explore what connects us humans, our planet and the universe.
