Violinist Anders Kjellberg Nilsson is originally from Oslo and was concertmaster of the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra before becoming 1st concertmaster of the Royal Swedish Orchestra a few years ago. He has been a soloist with all symphony orchestras in Norway and often performs as a chamber musician and as ensemble leader.
As an ensemble leader, he has had longer collaborations with the Kammerorchester Basel, Wermland Opera's orchestra and Trondheim Solistene. From 2008 to 2014, Anders was the artistic director of the festival Hardanger Musikkfest.
Anders is educated at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin under Ulf Wallin, as well as under the same teacher at the Edsberg Music Institute in Stockholm. He also holds a soloist diploma from Norway's Musikhøgskole where he studied with Detlef Hahn.
On CD you can e.g. hear him in music by Ravel and Debussy with pianist Sveinung Bjelland, and as leader of the Trondheim Solistene on their Grammy Award-nominated album «Divertimenti».
Anders plays a violin built by Michelangelo Bergonzi from the year 1744 lent by the Dextra Musica foundation.
