Born in 1964 in Västerås where he later began playing double bass in the municipal music school for Mario Morrone and Gert Pettersson.
In 1985 he was accepted at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm where he studied with Professor Thorvald Fredin until 1990.
Anders Öberg received the Royal Academy of Music's foreign scholarship in 1989 which made it possible for him to go to Italy and study with Franco Petracchi. Since 1990 he has been employed by the Royal Swedish Orchestra.
Anders combines his work at the Opera with a lot of other music making in a variety of contexts. Everything from schlagers and couplets with the orchestra Kvalitetsunderhållningen to self-composed pop music with the band The Daddys.
Since 2011 Anders has run the record label Öberg Recordings, which has released about ten productions with artists such as Anna Stadling and Karl Magnus Fredriksson.
