Jens Persson was born and raised in Södra Sandby outside Lund. He has studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and at the Opera College in Stockholm, from which he graduated in the spring of 2013.
Jens made his debut as Papageno in The Magic Flute at the Royal Swedish Opera in 2012. Since 2015, he has been part of the soloist ensemble and performed over 300 performances at the Royal Swedish Opera. He has sung in performances such as Maria Stuarda, Carmen, Xerxes, La bohème, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, and others.
Highlights include roles as the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, the title role in The Barber of Seville, Dandini in La Cenerentola (Cinderella) and he has also returned as Papageno over the years.
He has also sung on other stages and performed the roles of Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Läckö Castle and participated in Malmö Opera's La traviata on a regional tour. At the Landestheater Detmold (Germany) he appeared in Il viaggio a Reims by Rossini. At Drottningholm's Court Theatre, he has, among other things, sung Geronimo in Il matrimonio segreto by Cimarosa.
Concert repertoire includes Orff's Carmina Burana, Förklädd Gud by Larsson and Requiem by both Mozart and Fauré.
