Kristian Flor, Bass-baritone, was born/raised in Denmark.
Education: Royal Danish Academy of Music and Opera Academy in Copenhagen. Joined the Opera in 2006.
Recent productions at the Royal Swedish Opera in which Kristian Flor has participated are the world premiere of Mats Larsson Gothe's/Susanne Marko's The Promise 2022, the premieres of Gianni Schicchi 2022 and A Midsummer Night's Dream 2023. Furthermore, Il barbiere di Siviglia 2024, this time in the role of Basilio (directed by Linus Fellbom, compare below), Kärlek & kaos at Drottningholm Court Theatre in 2024 and recurring appearances in the role of Cesare Angelotti in Tosca.
Previous productions in which Kristian Flor has appeared are in Il barbiere di Siviglia (directed by Knut Hendriksen) where he played Fiorello and The Officer; in Rigoletto as the Duke's Calfactor (directed by Hilda Hellwig) and later as Monterone (directed by Sofia Jupither); Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro (directed by Knut Hendriksen); The Nightingale by Stravinsky; the premiere of Gossen och kärleken till tre apelsiner (freely after Goldoni) where he played The Father/Lill-Truff. He also appeared in Andrea Chénier, Dialogues des Carmélites, as Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, The Grail Knight in Parsifal, in operas such as Madama Butterfly, Otello, Der Rosenkavalier and Fedora. In 2017, he played the role of Holmwood at the world premiere of Victoria Borisova Ollas’ opera Dracula.
In the 2024/2025 season, Kristian Flor sang Angelotti in Tosca, Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro and Basilio in Il barbiere di Sivigla at the Royal Swedish Opera. In the 2025/2026 season, he will again sing Bartolo again in Figaro and also Vodník, the water sprite in Rusalka, Timur in Turandot and Dr. Vigelius/The Baron in Der ferne Klang.
