Norwegian tenor Bror Magnus Tødenes received first prize at the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition in 2015. In 2016, he sang the role of Rodrigo in Otello under Christian Thielemann at the Salzburg gala and later as the Messenger in Aida under Riccardo Muti. In the 2016/17 season, he made his debut at Staatsoper Wien in Gluck’s Armida under Marc Minkowski and then as Ismaele in Nabucco.
At the Royal Swedish Opera, he has previously sung Alfredio in La traviata. Other roles include the title role in La clemenza di Tito at the National Theatre in Prague and the Bergen National Opera, Macduff in Macbeth at the Opera de Lyon, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi and Rodolfo in La bohème at Den Norske Opera & Ballett. In the 2024/25 season, he has visited Malmö Opera in the role of Carlo in Giovanna d’Arco.
On the concert stage, he has been a soloist with several symphony orchestras and performed at the Bergen Opera Festival and the Copenhagen Opera Festival.
Bror Magnus Tødenes studied at the Academy of Music in Trondheim and at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome.
