Erik Rosenius, Bass, is a member of the soloist ensemble at the Royal Swedish Opera. He has previously been part of the soloist ensemble at the Göteborg Opera and was previously engaged in the international opera studio at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin (2018-2020). He is also a member of Barbara Hannigan's initiative, Equilibrium Young Artists.
Since 2014, he has a bachelor's degree in classical singing from the The Royal College of Music in Stockholm and in 2017 he graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm.
Erik has appeared in performances such as Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Nachtwächter) under Daniel Barenboim and Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier (Polizeikommissar) under Zubin Mehta at the Staatsoper Berlin. He also appeared in Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress (Father Trulove) under Barbara Hannigan in Gothenburg and on tour in Europe.
He has previously appeared at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm in Strauss's Salome and Ariadne auf Naxos under Alan Gilbert and John Fiore, as well as with Young Opera in Den långa, långa resan and Min bror är Don Juan.
Erik is often engaged as an oratorio singer and has sung Mozart's Requiem with the Munich Philharmonic under Barbara Hannigan and the same work with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, under Trevor Pinnock. He has received a number of scholarships, including the Royal Swedish Academy of Music Scholarship, the Rosenborg-Gehrman Scholarship, the Joel Berglund Scholarship and the Royal Swedish Opera Scholarship.
