In recent years, Magdalena Risberg has sung roles at the Royal Swedish Opera such as Mimì in La bohème and Micaëla in Carmen.
She studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and then at the College of Opera in Stockholm, and has been awarded the Jenny Lind Scholarship and the Birgit Nilsson Scholarship.
After her studies, she was engaged at the Royal Swedish Opera as Zemire in Zemire and Azor. She then sang Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Liù (Turandot), The First Flower Girl (Parsifal) and Dido (Dido & Aeneas). This was followed by engagements at the opera in Geneva (Medea), St. Gallen (Le Cid) and at the opera in Umeå, where she made her debut as Violetta in La traviata.
From 2016 to 2018, she was an ensemble member of Theater Luzern with a wide repertoire – roles such as Gilda (Rigoletto), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Elvira (The Italian in Algiers), the title role in Manon, Nannetta (Falstaff) and Amanda (Le Grand Macabre).
Magdalena Risberg has also had great success in roles such as Violetta (La traviata) in Malmö and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) at the Semperoper Dresden.
