Matilda Paulsson was educated at the Royal Academy of Music, London and the University College of Opera in Stockholm. Among her many roles are Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier, which she has sung both at the Royal Swedish Opera and at the opera houses in Hanover and Kiel, and the title role in Carmen at the Finnish National Opera, the Royal Swedish Opera and Opera på Skäret. At the Royal Swedish Opera she has also sung Cherubin in Le nozze di Figaro, Paquette in Candide and Arsamene in Xerxes.
At the Göteborg Opera she has appeared as the composer in Ariadne auf Naxos, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel and the Third Handmaid in Elektra. She has visited the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen as Fenena in Nabucco, Grimgerde in Die Walküre and Der Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos. Matilda Paulsson has also appeared in the role of Eboli in Don Carlos, both at Folkoperan and Opera på Skäret.
Matilda Paulsson has also performed in the rest of Europe, the United States and Japan. She has worked with conductors such as Sir Charles Mackerras, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Harding, Arnold Östman and Alan Buribayev. She has released two solo CDs, Junge liebe (Carpice), with a selection of romances, and Der Ton (Sterling), with romances by Joseph Marx.
