Blue Hour
Up close and personal with the orchestra

Welcome in, have a drink at the bar and tune in as some of our musicians play their personal favorites off stage.
Experience the musical width of the Royal Swedish Orchestra in a new form. On Saturday evening, when the matinee audience has gone home, music can be heard from the Golden Foyer. Welcome in, have a drink at the bar and listen as some of our musicians play their personal favourites off stage.
Since Blue Hour is a project marked by spontaneity, the program and participating musicians are usually announced shortly before a performance. Simply keep an eye on the website.
Previous Blue Hour concerts have had programs such as Fantasy Quintet (Mozart's Clarinet Quintet K.581 and York Bowen's Phantasy Quintet op. 93 for bass clarinet and string quartet); Piazzolla – Tango Sensations with six musicians; Viola Evening (including a premiere of a work composed by court bandleader Torbjörn Helander); and Sinatra Evening with Jens Persson Hertzman as vocal soloist and a number of accompanying orchestra members. The Blue Hour project started in the spring of 2022 and has been greatly appreciated by both musicians and audiences.
