Shakespeare’s moving love story has inspired countless interpretations. Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet version from 1938 is a classic, not least with Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s choreography (he also did the choreography for our recent production of Manon). Romeo and Juliet has been performed at the Royal Swedish Opera more than 180 times. This masterpiece of dramatic ballet, with its vivid characters, vibrating duets and large ensemble numbers, is finally back!
