Contribute in spreading grand impressions all over Sweden
As Sweden's national stage for opera and ballet, we must reach the whole country
The Royal Swedish Opera is to be accessible to all wherever they live in the country. Regardless of how old you are, where you were born or your background, everyone should be given the chance to experience our art forms, our craftsmanship and our performances. That is why we take some productions on tour, and we would like to do it more often. Another way to reach out is to deliver our works online. Today, you can access them via our award-winning digital stage, Operan Play and live at cinemas.
The opportunities for experiencing dance, music and song via digital platforms are many, and through our innovative digital stage, Operan Play, we are able to give children and young people, schools, hospitals and eldercare homes all over Sweden access to our arts. Since its inception, Operan Play has won three major awards: the Grand Prix publishing prize, the Webb Award and the Swedish Design Prize.
We have already seen that Operan Play is accessed by a younger audience nation-wide. More than a third of the viewers are under the age of 44, and 35 % of the digital audience is based outside Stockholm.
We now need your support and contributions in order to be able to continue developing and creating interesting content for Operan Play so we can make our art forms available ACROSS Sweden.
