Pelléas & Mélisande: Debussy's enigmatic masterpiece - podcast

In this episode of Opera's podcast, we get to go behind the scenes in the work on Debussy's enigmatic masterpiece Pelléas & Mélisande under the direction of Keith Warner. We get to meet soprano Kerstin Avemo, who plays the role of the mysterious Mélisande, and set designer Ashley Martin-Davis, who together with the director created an evocative and futuristic landscape. Hair has always had a strong symbolic meaning and so also in this opera. Cecilia Wallquist, curator at the Nordic Museum tells more about this.
