Daniel Ohlmann was born in Germany and raised in Canada, has studied singing at the University of Toronto, Masters from The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and stage performance at Opera Studio: Jeunes Voix du Rhin.
Engaged at the Royal Swedish Opera from 2016.
Daniel began his career as a soloist at the Staatsoper Stuttgart in 2002 in roles such as Narraboth (Salome), Pong (Turandot), Arbace (Idomeneo) and Alfred (Die Fledermaus). In 2006 he moved to the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater to sing leading roles such as Don José (Carmen), Faust, Werther, Rodolfo (La bohème), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Alfredo (La traviata), Lensky (Eugene Onegin) and Tamino (Die Zauberflöte).
He has performed at opera houses such as Badisches Staatstheater, Theater Bonn, in Münster, Ulm, Kaiserslautern, Meiningen and Rostock in roles such as Hans (The Bartered Bride) and Jim Mahoney (Mahagonny).
Concert performances include Flavio (Norma) at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Beethoven's 9th Symphony in Salzburg and at the Festival Música Mallorca, The Proms in Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Gurrelieder (Klaus Narr) at the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Liederhalle Stuttgart and Narraboth (Salome) at the Festival Música Canarias. Daniel has also appeared in oratorios from Handel's Messiah to Verdi's Requiem.
At the Royal Swedish Opera, Daniel has had soloist roles in Aida, Der ferne Klang, Der Rosenkavalier, Eugen Onegin, Short Stories IV, and sang the title role in Candide and Jonathan in Dracula.
