Mirja Sörberg was born and raised in Lönneberga and Hultsfred. She was educated at the Academy of Music in Örebro, Operastudio 67 in Stockholm and Södra Vätterbygdens Folkhögskola. She was employed at the Opera in 2000.
Among the roles at the Opera are Ida (Die Fledermaus), Flower Girl (The Marriage of Figaro), Countess Ceprano (Rigoletto), Cousin and Aunt (Madama Butterfly), and a slave (Salome).
Other engagements include Kristina from Duvemåla at Cirkus, Anden (Aladdin by Inger Wikström) and Pamina/Queen of the Night/First Lady (The Magic Flute) for children with Nordic Chamber Opera, and Serpetta (La finta Giardiniera) at Studio Lirico, Cortona, Italy.
Has sung in Eric Ericson's chamber choir in productions in Sweden and abroad.
