John Fiore
John Fiore, who was born in New York, has conducted over 100 performances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York including the premiere of Rusalka in 1993. From 2009-15 he was music director at Den Norske Opera and before that at Deutsche Opera am Rhein in Düsseldorf/Duisburg in parallel with being chief conductor of Düsseldorfer Symphoniker.
John Fiore has appeared at the Metropolitan, Chicago Lyric Opera, the San Francisco, Santa Fe and Houston opera houses. In Europe at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Semperoper in Dresden, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Rome Opera, Geneva, Cologne Opera, etc.
He also has an extensive symphonic repertoire with engagements in North America and Europe – from the debut of Verdi's Requiem with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl to the Staatskapelle Dresden, to name two examples.
At the Royal Swedish Opera, he has conducted performances such as Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi (premiere 2022), Rigoletto, Tosca, concert with Piotr Beczała (2023), Jenůfa and Wozzeck (the latter two premiering in 2024), and more.
