Ewa Strusińska
Ewa Strusińska, who comes from Poland, works in Germany as music director at the Gerhart Hauptmann Theater Görlitz-Zitta and as chief conductor of the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie.
She became internationally known when she won the prestigious conducting competition »Gustav Mahler«. From 2008 to 2010 she was assistant conductor of the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester, the first female ever for a British orchestra. From 2013 to 2016 she was chief conductor of the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ewa Strusińska has, among other things, been a guest conductor at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen and is in demand in international competitions. In 2019 she conducted the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at the BBC Cardiff Singers of the World Competition and in September 2019 she chaired the jury at the prestigious Aeolus Wind Competition at Tonhalle Düsseldorf.
