Make sure that more young people can develop with the help of the arts
Help us reach the opera and ballet lovers of the future, children and young people!
One of the Royal Swedish Opera’s main missions is to create productions that are relevant to children and young people as well as to offer them a chance to practice an art form. This is where one of the Royal Swedish Opera’s three main areas, Young Opera, comes in. We have been working for over ten years to ensure that more children from all types of background have access to the arts. This is important work, especially since it has been indicated that children who have access to the arts learn better and develop empathy for others.
Over 60,000 children and young people visit the Royal Swedish Opera each year to experience ballet, dance, opera and concerts. Schools are given this opportunity thanks to donations by our partners and by private individuals. We would like to double the number of children and young people who visit us through more prioritized activities at the Opera House and in Swedish schools. We also want to reach more children and young people online. In order to do this, we need to find more committed enthusiasts who are prepared to support projects which allow the young to experience performances or learn to sing, dance, play an instrument and create.
You can contribute to Young Opera's activities by donations to the Young Opera Appeal, read more about it here.
